Inner West Auslan Social (IWAS) happens on the second friday of every month (next one’s tomorrow!) at the Bath Arms Hotel in Burwood. It’s easy to access by a bus on parramatta rd, or about 10 mins walk from Burwood station. The pub is accessible, and it is mostly Deaf people catching up, so it is higher level than the more accessible Newtown Auslan which has more students. There is also a small “Conversation Group” which runs sometimes at University of Sydney as part of the SignSoc (auslan society). It has mostly students, and is a good place for someone who has completed SL1/SL2 but maybe boring to a fluent signer because people there are still learning.
